AIRCO extends an invitation to your company to participate in / contribute to an innovative Anti-Crime Campaign initiative from within the music industry - the “Take Charge” campaign.
The “Take Charge” campaign against crime was initiated by Gauteng Department of Community Safety under the honourable MEC Cachalia Firoz in conjunction with CWUSA (The Creative Workers Union of South Africa) and AIRCO (The Association of Independent Record Companies).
The "Take Charge" campaign is aimed at encouraging a collective responsibility in fighting against crime through a number of activities that involve different stakeholders (amongst others the SAPS, Community Police Forums, Business sector, NGOs and Musicians). The camapaign is focused around a CD/DVD release.
Musicians under CWUSA have gathered messages in a song titled “Take Charge”, which is the main track of the compilation album that also features original tracks and videos from all participating artists. There will also be outdoor events with live performances of all participating artists.
One of the messages carried by the “Take Charge” campaign is a message against piracy, which remains a great criminal challenge to the livelihood of the music industry. The "Take Charge" album will be the first of its kind to fight against piracy through its value added packaging, which includes:
