It is yet another year of celebrations among the proudly South African record companies, for having again scooped the most prestigious and priceless Award, “Best Selling Album of the Year.”

5 May 2008: Merlin Secures Biggest Bundle Of Rights Outside Big Four - Memberships Tops 12,000 Labels In 1st Month, confirming Merlin As “5th Conversation”

AIRCO congratulates all the nominees of the 14th MTN SAMA Awards. AIRCO members – most of whom are independent record company owners - call on the public, the artists and the media that support them to spare a thought for the generally silent but hard working record labels, that have put their best efforts into making sure their artists reach their ultimate potential with releases that are worthy of awards and acclaim such as this one.

CWUSA, the Creative Workers Union of South Africa, was established through the merger between the Performing Arts Workers Equity and the Musicians Union of South Africa. This is a process that began in 2005 and culminated in a Launching Congress on 7-9 September 2007 in Johannesburg. CWUSA is affiliated to COSATU.

Midem, Cannes 27th January - Merlin, the world’s first global rights body for independents, today opened its doors to label, distributor and aggregator members across the world.
