THE SOUTH AFRICAN MIDEM ORGANIZING COMMITTEE IS INVITING COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS TO APPLY FOR SUBSIDIES TO PARTICIPATE AT MIDEM IN JANUARY 2009

Guide on selection criteria for subsidy

Applicants will be selected based on their ability to convince the Selection Team that they meet the requirements which are articulated in the selection criteria below;

Category A - 4 subsidies
  1. South African Citizen
  2. South African company or individual
  3. Affiliated or belong to music industry related organisation.
  4. Have not attended MIDEM before
  5. Proof of a produced master and/or export readiness products
  6. Show monetary willingness to contribute towards the mission.
  7. Must not be a board member of AIRCO and Moshito or a board member of any organisation under Moshito.
  8. Supply tax number and/or clearance certificate
  9. Preference will be given to companies or individuals with strong empowerment credentials
  10. Is prepared to take shift work at the stand/pavilion.
Category B – 1 subsidy

Employees/staff and board members of any organisations under Moshito can apply for subsidy as part of organisational undertaking for skills enhancement and professional growth in the music sector. Selected applicant/s will be expected to provide customer/client service support at the SA pavilion during MIDEM. Apart from the essential criteria, other requirements for selection in this category are as follows; Empowerment equity (both gender and race), Exhibits professionalism, Serves the greater good – passionate about the sector, have not received subsidy to attend international music markets before. Due to limited resources, not more than one person shall be selected for this category.

Submissions will be judged by the Committee responsible for the MIDEM Project, taking into account of inputs and advice from the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC). The Committee, reserves the rights to grant, withdraw and/or not to grant the subsidies.
