AIRCO seeks to join the growing international movement that recognizes the economic and functional importance of independent record companies, and of the record industry overall, and to represent it’s members and those of the South African music industry in general within the bodies spearheading this movement such as WIN and Merlin. The Association further seeks to encourage and facilitate cultural expression through South African music at local, national and international levels, to improve the profile of South African music globally, and to create opportunities for export and other exploitation of members copyrights in the global market.
