| Western Cape Musician's Association seeks partners |

A letter from the Western Cape Musician’s Association. Wanting to communicate with you!
Hi everyone
“The road is long with many a winding turn” seems to be the swan song of the association. This is our second month and besides setting up premises and establishing formal structures, part of our focus this month is to develop lateral friendships/partnerships with organizations that use music as a vehicle to communicate their message. The importance of these partnerships is multifaceted, from sharing information to gaining access to specialists who could assist with skills development and training. This relationship could also allow us input in programmes and workshops intended for musicians. The bottom line is to stimulate work opportunities for musicians, by partnering with organizations of all kinds, to assist in fund raising efforts/project implementation/festival planning/ etc .
If you have sustainable project ideas, which could result in skills transfer and job creation, PLEASE share your views with us.
In order to know about these and future projects. WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU. I’m sure you are familiar with the concept of the “chain letter”. Please send this link to 10 persons who are either musicians/musical groups/choir/ensemble/hip-hop in fact anyone who makes music. You can make a difference and empower fellow musicians by helping us to communicate with others in the music industry Project Manager Terry Fortune Background The Association is in its second month of running. We at the association have been trying to get information out to musicians and the industry as to our progress thus far. As I am sure many of you have realised marketing is a costly exercise. We have therefore taken the following the following steps: We have a FACEBOOK Group – under the name of the Western Cape Musician’s Association. The group is growing at a steady pace. Another vehicle has been that of myspace: http://groups.myspace.com/wcmassociation Please feel free to have a look at the sites given and join the groups in order to get the word out.
