The Cape Music Industry Commission (Cape MIC) has released results of it's Board Elections and news of other developments.

 

ELECTION RESULTS

The Cape Music Industry Commission (Cape MIC) is proud to announce the results of the Election of its Board Members that took place in February 2008. We apologise for the delay in communicating the results. This was due to the confirmation process that followed the voting process.

It gives us great pleasure to present the names of the Elected Members of the 1st Board of Cape MIC.

Theodore Lawrence (Chairperson  / Director )
Gabi Le Roux (Vice - chairperson  / Director )
Mynie Grové
Mohammad Fall
Zuko Pokwana
Advocate Joel Baloyi

We regret to advise that although Dave Subkleve & Rene Veldsman were also elected onto the Board they have since tendered their resignations due to their current business priorities. In the light of this, the Board is giving consideration to the co-option of additional Board members with the view to strengthening its expertise & representivity.

The Appointed Members are:

Rozzano Davids - representing the Western Cape Musicians Association (WCMA)  
Delecia Forbes - representing the Western Cape Department of Economic Development & Tourism (DEDT)

We would like to  take this opportunity to thank the Steering Committee of Rozzano Davids, Omar Dick, Olivia Dyers, Delecia Forbes, Steve Gordon, Mynie Grové, Iain Harris, Patrick Hickey, Yoel Kenan & Theodore Lawrence for all the time & effort that they put into the preparation & establishment of Cape MIC.

NEXT STEPS: 

We are happy to advise that, in March 2008, the Department of Economic Development & Tourism (DEDT) provided Cape MIC with start-up capital which has enabled the Board to appoint Development Works to perform Cape MIC's operational functions as well attend to the implementation of the following key deliverables which are due over the period ending May 2008:
